This week's good news seemed a little short in supply but did include:
Keith shared that our speaker, Donna Gysler, inquired about becoming a member.
We hope she continues to show interest in joining our effervescent group.
Glen Rowe told us that Vickie's mother is doing good and he and the boys had been "bachin' it" while Vickie was still away. Rev. Lindstrom offered to bring him some casseroles from the church if they needed it. Glen said they could survive on the "guy" meals they were managing and listed a few. We all agreed that they were not doing too bad from the sounds of the delicious menu Glen listed.
A few other Good News items including Justin Jenkins pointing out that some teams won, and that other teams lost. Please forgive me that I did not note the team names this week. Vickie we need your attention to detail, no rush - but hurry back! LOL

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

D. Ray reminded us that anyone can place ads in the new larger format weekly program that now has more room and supports Interact.  He also pointed out that the District Conference for Cy-Fair Interact is on November 14th, which is the morning of our Fund Raiser Dance. He encouraged members to assist; it will be a full day of Rotary for those who do.
Vicki Botkin, club Treasurer, informed us that invoices were going out now for the new quarter.
Lloyd Culp shared the fact that Cy-Falls Interact needs a sponsor. That is the high school just across 290 on Huffmiester.
David Feldmeyer let us know about his efforts to develop a service project at Boys & Girls Country. He said they had time this coming weekend possibly but the members present decided that was too short of notice and so David agreed to get back with them and find something available further in the future. This would give us all more notice to work it into our schedules.
Tiffany told the club about her wrap sponsorship project for the District's Governor Ed Charlesworth. Chameleon Wraps owner Robb Keegan has agreed to "wrap" DG Ed's Prius with Rotary graphics to support Rotary, with the added incentive of a large swatch of promo space on the back hatch. We'll soon see this work of art driving around our area of town and promoting Rotary to the community at every stop light. Look for the "Humanity in Motion" Prius in the coming weeks. If you ever consider getting your car 'wrapped' to promote your business, give Robb at ChameleonWraps.com the opportunity to serve you in thanks for his donation to our District's cause.
Tiffany also shared tickets to a free dog and car wash fund raiser for the Houston Dog Park Association where she is President. Tickets are not required to attend this event on Oct 24th. A side note: Vicki has been trying to get Dr. Caballero, who is hosting this event, to join our club. So a showing of support from Rotary members by just dropping by to get a car washed or even to volunteer to wash cars, will surely help her effort.
Mike Hoke again reminded us of the Reach Luncheon on Thursday and Keith reminded us of the Skeet Event on Oct. 17th with Westside Rotary Clubs.
