At our next meeting on Oct. 12 we will have guest speaker Vince Ryan, Harris County DA, who will tell us about "Human Trafficking in Harris County". This is a timely issue because a story recently aired on the local news stations about "Massage Parlors" that seem to be proliferating on 1960 - with some near Jones Rd. It is known that many of these illegal businesses are in fact "employing" modern day slaves that they acquire through the human trafficking market. Learn more at this informative meeting.
Our President challenged us to bring a guest to assist the club membership growth. For Monday's meeting, or the next one -where we will have guest speaker and Olympic Diving Champion Laura Wilkinson, invite a friend to enjoy fellowship with you. You might even receive a call from a fellow Rotarian the week before a meeting to remind you of this challenge. You can assist our club with growth and diversity by seeking out associates who have a variety of skills, experiences, backgrounds, ages and ethnicities to be a guest.
