The July 6th session was the first meeting for the new Club officers.

As the new Club President, Keith Peterson called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone to the Cy-Fair Rotary club weekly meeting.

Secretary Justin Jenkins recognized the following visitors: Gail Drago (guest of Vicki Rowe), Jennifer Grieger (daughter of Vicki Botkin), George McHugh (Cypress exchange student going to Belgium), Rich Houser (guest of Justin Lindstrom's and the new Associate Pastor at St. Aidans Episcopal Church), Art Rujiratanakui (Cypress exchange student) and the speaker, Tiffany Cady-Moore.

Keith discussed his goals and objectives for the Club in the coming year and described the organizational structure he wants to pursue. He handed out a 2 page overview of the Club Committees and Subcommittees with suggested members. He encouraged everyone to become more involved in Committee activities and stressed the importance of active participation by all members in Club activities.

Vicki Rowe reviewed the Club Visitation project and distributed an outline describing the effort along with maps indicating the location of other Rotary Clubs in our district. She and Jim Hutchison discussed how the visiting gnome project would work and asked for volunteers to attend surrounding Rotary Clubs in pursuing the project.

Before introducing the speaker, Andrew Walker, Chair of the Weekly Speakers Committee indicated that this would be his first and last introduction due to the fact that he'd taken a new job in Sugarland that would prevent him from continuing on with his membership with Cy-Fair. On behalf of the Club, Keith wished him well in his new endeavors and mentioned that we'd miss him.

Tiffany Cady-Moore, President of the Houston Dog Park Association, provided a very informative program on the need for dog parks and the benefits that they provide to dog owners and their 4 legged friends. She pointed out that dog parks are located in a number of areas throughout the Houston/Harris County area and that they are public parks designated and built specifically for your dog to socialize and exercise safely and off-leash. The parks are equiped with swimming ponds, doggy showers, agility equipment, fire hydrants, shaded seating and walking trails. She encouraged and invited all Club dog owners to come out to one of the parks and enjoy the amenities.
