Announcements:
Linda Honig told us about the Diabetes Walk in the Woodlands coming up. This is a cause close to home for her. Learn more about this event that occurs on November 21st at the Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes Houston website. It is a 3K walk and a 5 K run that ends in a large Health and Fitness Festival that benefits the American Diabetes Association. Linda plans to walk and would like people to sponsor her.
Mike Hoke reminded us about the Reach Unlimited fundraiser at Berry Center on Oct. 14. It is a luncheon lasting from 12 to 1 and he encouraged us all to come enjoy the free meal.
D Ray announced that he would be speaking to Interact students later in the day.
It was pointed out to us that our PR Chair, Dr. Sammy Tao, had also joined the YMCA Board. He'll be a great asset to them.
Rev. Justin announced our support for the Salute to Stars Educational Gala that is on Oct 22 @ 6:30 pm at Berry Center. We have 6 tables reserved. Please Rev. Justin know if you would like to attend. The gala recognizes teachers of excellence in Cypress-Fairbanks I.S.D and funds both teacher grants and student scholarships for higher education. The gala will include entertainment, a Razzle Dazzle Raffle and a Live Auction.
