Today we had a great speaker and lot of good news.
The picture shows our speaker, Ray Laughter, from Lone Star College, but first the good news!

Alan mentioned that he and his wife leave Friday for Lake Tahoe and won't be at the installation. We'll miss them.

Glen and Vicki attended the Katy Rotary last week and introduced the Rotary Roaming Gnome to that club. (See picture of gnome with Vicki, future district governor, Rhonda Walls, and club president, Jane Davis.)

Mike R. and Sherry hosted his niece's wedding at their home last Saturday with Reverend Justin Lindstrom performing the ceremony.

Tom apologized for being late to the meeting and thanked Gary and Keith for covering for him. He also mentioned the Father's Day card he received and the royal treatment that his family gave him Sunday.

Ted recently returned from a trip to Boston where the weather was extremely pleasant (compared to ours) with the highs in the 60's and the lows in the 40's. In addition, Ted mentioned the College baseball game tonight and suggested that Ray lead everyone in the Texas Fight song, which he did.

Alan also told us about his son's Father's Day card to his grandpa, which read "I'm cool and you're cool. What happened to the generation in between?"

Marilyn was back from Israel, where she was excited to see a Rotary symbol displayed. She took a picture, which hopefully, she will share with us at a later date.

Keith contributed the fact that the Sam Houston Race Park has some good concerts going on on Saturday nights lately.
